Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has issued a stern warning to individuals challenging his authority as the state’s leader, urging them to cease such actions immediately.
Speaking on Tuesday at the burial ceremony of the late Zaki Toko Zumbe, Tor Kule Kule, Mbangur, Mbadede, in Vandeikya Local Government Area, Governor Alia emphasised that there can only be one governor at a time, reaffirming his legitimacy as the elected leader of Benue State.
He cautioned those unhappy with his leadership to reconsider their stance or leave the state, stating, “I am the only governor of Benue State, and no one should undermine my authority.
To the entire Tiv nation, let it be known that there are not two governors in this state.
Anyone dissatisfied with my election can leave Kunav land or Tiv land entirely.”
Governor Alia further assured the gathering of his commitment to serving the people and fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him.
