I did not kill Mohbad – Sam Larry tells police

Nigerian socialite Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, has vehemently denied any involvement in the death of Promise “Mohbad” Aloba. Videos surfaced showing Sam Larry confronting the singer during a video shoot.

Sam Larry, who is an ally of Naira Marley, stated that he had been away in Kenya since August 20 and was unaware of the details surrounding Mohbad’s death on September 12. He clarified that he was in Kenya searching for a star to perform at his mother’s annual remembrance.

In a statement shared on his Snapchat page, Sam Larry disclosed that his disagreement with the late singer revolved around a N2 million debt owed to him by Mohbad. He claimed to have paid Mohbad N2 million for a performance at his mother’s annual remembrance concert, but the singer failed to attend.

Mohbad allegedly explained that he couldn’t make it due to illness and financial constraints after leaving Naira Marley’s Marlian Records.

Sam Larry emphasized that their dispute was solely about the unpaid debt and stated that he had no knowledge of Mohbad’s whereabouts or any involvement in his passing.

He was taken into police custody on Thursday evening for further investigation regarding Mohbad’s death.
