Augustine Obiabo Ahmedu, otherwise known as Blackface of the defunct Plantation Boyz, has accused his kinsman and estranged band mate of trying to make him remain poor.
The Hard Life singer said Mr. Idibia stole his song, Let Somebody Love You and refused to pay him his royalty.
The Agatu-born Benue State singer declared that he had dragged 2face to court for copyright infringement.
Tuface while reacting to the claim asked Blackface to apologise within seven days for all the defamatory statements or be dragged to court.
Blackface lamented that his former band mate had succeeded in sidelining him from all events in Benue State with the aim of making him to remain poor.
“I read what his manager said and it is really funny. For me, I have taken the right step and that is the best I have done. Let the law have its way.
“I have been trying to play low on this because we both are from Benue and he doesn’t want to see it that way. I had wanted us to work together as kinsmen so we could develop our youths but he doesn’t want all that.
“He has succeeded in pushing me aside from participating in all shows in Benue because he wants to make all the money so I could be poor. Check out all events that have been happening in my hometown. It’s all about him and him alone. I don’t the reason for all the hatred.
“You can’t ride on my intellectual property and want me to keep mum,” he said.
Asked if 2face had ever paid him any royalty for the song, the acclaimed Ghetto Child said he had never received any money for the song.
“He has never paid my anything. My pain is, he went ahead to remix the song and featured someone else without my consent. That is intellectual robbery. The case is already on and we shall see how it ends,” he added.
