Street-hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has insisted that he will perform at the Celestial Church of God, Goshen Land Cathedral in Lagos State, despite the recent controversy surrounding the church’s invitation to him and Fuji singer Pasuma for a praise night on December 15, 2023.
Portable revealed in a viral video that he was offered a payment of N5 million for his performance at the church.
Addressing the situation in Yoruba, he said, “Celestial church, we must do the show; you have already paid me N5 million.
“Pasuma will perform, I will also perform, and we must do it. The children of God are coming. Land of Goshen Cathedral, please in God’s name, consider us as children of God. Don’t judge me by my appearance.”
His statement comes after the church faced public backlash for inviting Portable and Pasuma, leading to a decision by Celestial Church leader Olatosho Oshoffa to announce their withdrawal from the event in a Facebook post.
