I regret making Fubara Gov, forgive me – Wike begs God, Rivers family
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has admitted an error in his assessment of Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State.
Wike appealed to both God and his political allies in Rivers State for forgiveness, recognizing his misjudgment.
He pledged to rectify this error in due course and expressed his determination to persist in actions that may unsettle his detractors, thus prompting them to repeat their own mistakes.
Wike made these remarks during a civic reception held yesterday in honor of Chief George Thompson Sekibo, commemorating his 36 years of dedicated public service in Ogu-Bolo.
In his address, Wike said, “In life, errors are inevitable. I’ve made one, and I take full responsibility. I ask for God’s forgiveness and the forgiveness of all of you. Rest assured, we will rectify this mistake in due time. We are all prone to mistakes, so I ask for your understanding and forgiveness for my erroneous judgment. No one deserves condemnation.”
Wike encouraged his supporters in the state assembly not to yield to intimidation, reassuring them of their legislative positions.
He elucidated, “Do not be intimidated. Your status as lawmakers is secure. Many of you may not fully grasp our strategy. It’s our duty to instill fear in our opponents. That’s precisely what I am pursuing. By continuing to provoke them, we can capitalize on their errors, ensuring our continued strength.”
