I remain in ADC, can’t dump party in secret – Suswam
Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has denied reports claiming that he secretly defected from the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Suswam described the rumours as false, insisting that he remains a proud and committed member of the ADC.
Speaking during a visit to the residence of Prof Saasongo Nongu in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Sunday, the former governor said it would be beneath his political stature and a betrayal to his supporters to abandon the party without their knowledge.
“I am too big to dump the ADC in secret. Leaving the party quietly would be the height of disgrace to my personality and a betrayal to my loyalists,” Suswam said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the ADC and pledged to continue working towards strengthening the party and expanding its influence across Benue State and beyond.
Suswam also urged party members to rally behind Mzondu, whom he described as a visionary and dependable leader capable of upholding the ideals of the ADC.
In his response, Mzondu thanked Suswam for his mentorship and leadership, pledging continued loyalty to him and the party.
“Senator Suswam has been a political father to me. His wisdom and leadership have shown me the right path to follow, and I remain loyal to him and the cause of our great party,” Mzondu said.
