Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, known for his signature dance moves, has revealed that his passion for dancing started even before birth.
In an interview with Punch published on Saturday, Adeleke shared that his mother told him he would move in her womb whenever music played and become still when it stopped.
“When I was about nine months to a year old, she noticed that if I was crying and music was played, I would stop crying and start dancing,” Adeleke recalled.
As he grew older, the governor said he realized he was more productive when surrounded by music, making it an inseparable part of his life.
Despite criticism, Adeleke said his love for dancing has worked in his favor. He recalled how opponents tried to use it against him during his time as a senator, but instead, it boosted his popularity, especially on social media.
“At some point, my family advised me to slow down, but I refused because my dancing brings joy to people,” he said.
He also encouraged other leaders to embrace their passions, noting that dancing has not affected his governance.
“In just two years, we have achieved so much in Osun State. We inherited a tough situation, but we hit the ground running, and now we have results to show,” Adeleke added.
