I used Nedu as bait to expose VeryDarkMan – DeeOne

Big Brother Naija reality TV star, Adedayo Martin, popularly known as DeeOne, has revealed that his controversial remarks on the ‘Honest Bunch’ podcast were part of a deliberate plan to expose social media critic, VeryDarkMan.

The controversy began when DeeOne, during an interview on the podcast hosted by media personality Nedu, accused VeryDarkMan of engaging in same-sex relationships.

In response, VeryDarkMan retaliated to Instagram, alleging that Nedu used his platform to exploit up-and-coming entertainers in exchange for media exposure.

He also threatened to reveal the names of individuals Nedu had allegedly been involved with in the entertainment industry.

The fallout from the accusations eventually led to Nedu’s resignation from the podcast. However, in a recent appearance on TVC’s ‘Breakfast Show,’ DeeOne admitted that he had orchestrated the entire situation without Nedu’s knowledge.

“Can I be honest and say the truth? I was the one who set a trap for VeryDarkMan using Nedu,” he confessed.

“I planned everything on my own because if I had called him out on social media, people would say I was clout-chasing.

I needed a credible platform. I had been observing him for months, trying to determine if he was genuine or just manipulating Nigerians. Some things he says are accurate, but most of the time, he jumps to conclusions and deceives people.”

DeeOne went on to express regret over the unintended consequences of his actions, particularly Nedu’s job loss.

“Even Nedu is shocked because he wouldn’t have allowed it if he had known my plan. He’s actually VeryDarkMan’s friend. I never expected it would cost him his job, and I feel horrible about that.

I used Nedu as bait to catch the fish (VeryDarkMan), and it worked perfectly,” he added.
