Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, expresses confidence in Nigeria’s potential to clinch victory in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Nigeria secured the top spot in the group with 15 points from six matches, securing their place alongside Guinea Bissau in the tournament set to take place in Cote D’Ivoire in January 2024.
The Portuguese tactician, who recently accepted a reduction in salary to continue leading the national team, conveyed to Brila FM in an interview that his primary motivation for staying on was the ambition to triumph in the 2023 AFCON.
“Me and my staff did everything in order to stay here to train these players and reach the big goal, win the AFCON title,” Peseiro told Brila FM.
The 63-years-old, Peseiro recently inked a new six-month contract that will extend until the conclusion of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11.
