A tweep, Ameerah Sufyan, who went viral last week after claiming she was kidnapped from her home in Abuja, has recanted.
Ameerah in fresh tweets on Monday, said she wasn’t kidnapped. She said she deliberately left her home and entered bushes where she was for four days. She also apologised for the false alarm.
She said, “I intentionally took myself out of our house, went to these locations, entered bushes and dehydrated and starved myself for four days just like that, there was no kidnapping, nothing at all, I truly apologise and please pray for me, I need it.”
Meanwhile, upon ‘rescuing’ her last week, the Federal Capital Police Command denied that Ameerah wasn’t kidnapped but that they took her to the hospital based on best global practices.
Ameerah had trended for days on Twitter after she claimed that she was kidnapped alongside some other persons. She even claimed that the kidnappers were of Fulani and Yoruba ethnicities.
