I will not tell anyone the source of my wealth, not even my parents – Machala of Benue
Popular internet sensation, Machala of Benue, also known as Benue First Son, has dismissed speculations surrounding his source of income, describing claims linking his spending to possible scrutiny by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as unfounded.
Machala, who hails from Ikobi in Apa LGA of Benue State made the clarification while reacting to a video by Real Idoma Pikin, who advised him to register a company to avoid being “tracked” or questioned by the EFCC over his financial activities.
He has been widely seen on social media displaying a collection of luxury vehicles and spending freely during the festive period, which has drawn public attention. With a following of about 26,000 on Facebook, many people have asked questions about what he does and the source of his wealth.
He said the claims showed a misunderstanding of his lifestyle and business engagements, insisting that his wealth was the product of hard work and legitimate ventures.
“I do not sit down and money appears, neither do I sleep and wake up to see money. I work very hard for what I have,” he said.
According to him, those genuinely interested in knowing more about his background should make inquiries from people within his immediate environment, stressing that he is actively engaged in multiple businesses.
His statement is below.
Good evening, fans. My name is Machala of Benue, popularly known as Benue First Son.
I came across a video tonight where someone said I should open a company so that the EFCC cannot “track” me or disturb me because of the money I am spendings. That is one thing many of you do not understand.
I honestly do not know what some people take me for. Do you think I just sit down and money appears, or that I sleep and wake up to see money? I work very hard for what I have.
If you really want to know who Machala of Benue is, ask people around me. Ask them: who is this Machala they are talking about? Does he have businesses? The people around me know. I have a lot of businesses.
What many of you are really interested in is my source of income. Let me make it clear: nobody will know my source of income until I die. Nobody. Not even those close to me, not my parents, nobody.
People talk about business, real estate, this and that. If you go to any local government in Benue State (Apa) and ask who owns the most land, you will hear names. When it comes to land and property, especially in Idoma land, people know what I’m talking about.
If you come around, you will see things for yourself.
