I wish him all the best – Arteta reacts to Maresca’s departure
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Enzo Maresca for his “terrific job” at Chelsea following the club’s decision to part ways with the Italian on January 1.
Speaking about Maresca’s sacking, Arteta expressed his admiration for both the man and his work.
“I really like Enzo as a person and a professional,” Arteta said.
“He did a terrific job at Chelsea, and while the decision has been made, I wish him all the best moving forward.”
Maresca had a successful end to last season, securing the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup titles with Chelsea. However, the Blues have struggled this season, currently trailing Premier League leaders Arsenal by 15 points.
