Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, recently asserted that he penned several hit songs for fellow artist Wizkid during their time at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).
In an appearance on the show “Curiosity Made Me Ask,” hosted by Bae U Barbie, Skales disclosed that he co-wrote tracks on Wizkid’s debut album, Super Star, including the bonus track “Wiz Party.”
He also acknowledged that Wizkid contributed to his music, notably writing the hit “Mukulu.”
“We were a team at EME, collaborating on each other’s songs,” Skales explained. “I wrote for Wizkid, and he wrote for me. He created ‘Mukulu’ for me, while I wrote ‘Wiz Party’ for him. EME was all about teamwork.”
Wizkid and Skales were among the first artists signed by R&B star Banky W in the early 2010s, a move that propelled them into the spotlight. Both artists eventually departed the label following disagreements with Banky W.
In a past interview, Banky W revealed that Wizkid had an obligation to deliver three albums to EME as per his original contract.
