‘Ibrahim Attahiru’s wife didn’t die in plane crash’

Mohammed Dattijo, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has said Fati, the wife of the late Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, is alive.

Dattijo tweeted this on Friday night, in reaction to reports that Attahiru’s wife was involved in a plane crash.

“It is incorrect; the wife is alive. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” he tweeted.

A Nigerian Air Force aircraft conveying some top military officers crashed near Kaduna.

Attahiru died in the crash on Friday.

The Nigerian Air Force in a post on Twitter confirmed that the air crash, involving a @NigAirForce aircraft, occurred near the Kaduna International Airport.
