A.C Milan and Swedish forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic said he has no interest in hanging the boot anytime soon, claiming he will only stop once he has seen a player who is “stronger than me”.
The Malmo born forward will turn 41 in early October and is into his third full season at Milan, having joined from LA Galaxy in December 2019.
Ibrahimovic was forced to undergo a knee surgery in the summer after managing a niggling injury across last season. He scored scored eight goals in 23 Serie A appearances last season for Milan.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ibrahimovic said ; “I am arrogant, zero fear. I’m well, I’m working every day to come back. When I come back, I’ll make myself heard, you can count on that. I’ll do it violently. Patience is needed, that’s the key now.”
Responding to former AC Milan midfielder, Zvonimir Boban, who suggested the Swedish should retire because of is age and injuries.
“Boban said it would be better for me to quit? If I see a stronger player than me, I’ll retire. But I haven’t seen that yet.”
The former Barcelona and Ajax player also talked about Milan’s summer window transfer signings.
“We’re even stronger than last year as a squad. Overall, we’re a better team, the market in the summer after winning the Scudetto strengthened us and now we have more alternatives on the bench. If I didn’t like things, I wouldn’t be here.”
