IceKing Ochacho: The new rap wonderkid with vibe, swag and the 90 Billion Gang
It was at the maiden edition of the Ochacho Carnival in Otukpo, Benue State, that a new voice boldly announced himself as one to watch on Nigeria’s music scene.
On that memorable December night in 2020, the atmosphere was electric. A jam-packed crowd waited eagerly as organisers prepared to unveil the next performer. Then came the surprise: a child casually strutted onto the stage. A hush fell over the audience.
Eyes widened. Necks craned. Many wondered how a seven-year-old could command the same stage graced by heavyweights such as Davido—arguably Africa’s biggest pop star at the time, alongside Zlatan and the ever-creative Peruzzi.
Moments later, doubt gave way to disbelief.
The young rapper delivered a performance that would go on to steal the show. By the time he dropped his hit single “Ochacho Money,” the crowd was sold. Young in age but fearless in confidence, he was cool as ice, spitting bars with a fire far beyond his years.
Davido summed it up perfectly when he described the boy as “The Future.” That night introduced the world to Shedrack Adah, popularly known as IceKing Ochacho, a hip-hop prodigy and son of real estate mogul King Mohammad Odeh Adah, also known as Ochacho, the Wakili of the FCT and Oyame of Otukpo, IDOMA VOICE reports.
Despite being one of Nigeria’s youngest rappers, IceKing displayed a rare lyrical versatility. His flow evoked memories of rap legends like 2Pac and Biggie, while his cadence effortlessly shifted into styles reminiscent of Jay-Z and Lil Wayne. The talent was raw, but unmistakably refined.
His brilliance was further confirmed when music stars Teni and D’Banj asked him to freestyle. In less than a minute, IceKing stunned them with sharp wordplay, rhythm, hooks and rhyme schemes far too advanced for his age.
A line from the chorus of “Ochacho Money” has since evolved into popular street slang. Whether on the bus or walking down the street, the chant—“My money go choke you, Ochacho money go choke you”—is instantly recognisable. Simple, catchy and everywhere.
Beyond lyrical skill, IceKing is a natural performer with an undeniable X-factor on stage. This magnetic presence explains his standout showing at the Ochacho Carnival and the massive reception of the official “Ochacho Money” music video on YouTube, which quickly amassed millions of views. Directed by Tiannah, the video features cameo appearances from Chubby Little Miss Mimi, Money Man Ochacho and Lord Maine.
IceKing’s music continues to gain traction beyond the entertainment industry, attracting admiration from celebrities such as D’Banj, Teni, Crazeclown, Seyi Law, Ogenyi Onazi and Zlatan Ibile.
In 2025, IceKing Ochacho once again showcased his brilliance at the Ochacho Carnival. Now in his teens, he electrified the crowd with a vibrant live performance that had everyone on their feet.
Overwhelmed with pride and excitement, his father, the billionaire Ochacho, could not hide his emotions as he rose in admiration of his son’s commanding stage presence.
His most recent song, a heartfelt tribute dedicated to his father, marked a rare milestone as IceKing became one of the first young artistes to honour his father through music. The emotional track moved Ochacho to tears during one of the performances.
One thing is clear: IceKing Ochacho is no fleeting sensation. He has stepped onto the stage, and he is not leaving anytime soon.
With his brand carefully crafted and steadily polished, music lovers are only just beginning to experience the swag, confidence and growing movement of IceKing Ochacho and his 90 Billion Gang.
