–>It has a shape of a mild-mannered modern model. Standing tenaciously at the tail end of downtown Benue is the ancient city of Ichama, in Okpokwu LGA. Traveling to Ichama via the ever-busy Orokam-Owukpa road is therefore a horrendously lengthy experience, not to mention uncomfortable.
As I approached the community, distant memories of the civil war returned to my mind, it had been over a decade since I last visited Ichama.
The weather is quite good when I walked along, allowing for a great view of the famous, gods, oddly shaped mountains with a light grey base and a dark brown top layer. Every now and then, a loud cracking sound quite like thunder roars through the valley, announcing yet another avalanche arrival of Omanchala.
This is Ichama, the land of Golden Temples
