He was buried today in Agatu local government area of Benue state.

A colleague Kween Levi shared the news of his demise on Facebook. She wrote;

Dear inspector TANKO MOHAMMED how I wish the dead can see, u would have seen how ur colleagues fought gallantly to avenge ur death, u would have seen how everybody was crying and rolling on the ground when the news of ur death reached the base. U were so loved by every body.

But believe me when I say that u didn’t die alone. Of course ur death gave ur colleagues a bitter strength to kill many of them that took u away from them.

Even today we never believed that u are gone just like that but it is true. Today is ur burial and we are sad about it but that is the best thing to do for u so that u will rest. We really love u but and its obvious that God loves u the most. Adieu brother till we meet again.
