Thaddeus Attah, the House of Representatives member representing Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, has refuted reports suggesting that he was removed from office by the tribunal.
Initial reports had indicated that the petition tribunal in Lagos State had invalidated the House of Representatives election results for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, including the removal of the Labour Party candidate who had been declared the winner.
In response, Attah took to his Twitter page to clarify the situation. He affirmed that he had not been removed from office. Instead, he explained that the tribunal had ordered a supplementary election to be conducted in the 32 polling units where the initial election did not take place.
He reassured his constituents, saying, “There’s no need to be alarmed! I want to clarify that I have not been removed from office. The Tribunal has simply called for a re-run (supplementary election) in the 32 polling units where elections were not held. We will continue working for Etiosa.
“I urge my constituents to remain calm, as we remain steadfast. Together, we will overcome this challenge,” he emphasized.
