Idoma-born veteran singer, 2Face Idibia cries out as people mock him for not speaking proper English

Veteran Nigerian musician, Innocent Ujah Idibia aka 2Baba – formerly known as 2Face – has opened up on the trauma he gets from being bullied for not speaking proper English.

The “Opo” singer lamented he is constantly harassed for not having a foreign accent.

Taking to his Twitter handle on Thursday, to pour out his heart, the legend wondered why Africans who English is not their first language, should mock other Africans because they can’t speak English properly or have a British or American accent.

The international award winning musician, called out Africans who feel superior because they can speak English with British or American accent.

He further revealed that he feels terrible from the stigmas some Africans melt at fellow Africans just because of their inability to speak a foreign language properly.

“Why do we as Africans laugh or look down at us that can’t speak English proper or don’t have the accent?
Why do we feel superior because we can speak English with their accent?
I have been guilty of this and I feel terrible now.
#UNWASHTHEBRAINWASH
#ONELOVERELIGION,” he tweeted.

IDOMA VOICE recalls that there were claims in some corners that 2Face’s inability to speak proper English was the reason he settled for singing in Pidgin.
