The people of Otukpo LGA of Benue State have cried out over the activities of men of the underworld along the Otukpo-Ogobia-Adoka-road.
Residents of the area are crying out to the relevant security agencies that criminals have turned the place to a safe haven.
IDOMA VOICE observed that few weeks ago, a respected cleric known as Rev. Innocent was kidnapped.
He was, however, released few days later.
Some residents, who spoke with our reporters, said robbers and kidnappers now operate freely along the road without the presence of any security agent.
“We are living in hell here. Robbers and kidnappers have turned our village to a safe haven. We no longer sleep with our two eyes close. This is no longer funny. We are calling on the state police command. Benue state government to come to our aide,” a resident who gave her name as Ene Inalegwu, said.
Also, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Samuel Ortom on Media, Olikita Ekani, called on the security agencies to do the needful.
Ekani wrote on this Facebook wall thus, “#OTUKPO_OGOBIA_ADOKA_ROAD has become the New Safe Haven for Armed Robbers and Kidnappers in Benue State. Security should take note and do the needful pls.”
