Idoma Voice Editor, Ben Idah declares intention to contest Ewulo Ward Councillorship (See his profile)

PROFILE of Hon. Comrade Idah Ben Okopi- Ewulo Ward Councillorship Aspirant.

Comrade Idah Ben Okopi was born on 19th January, 1993 (26-year-old) in Otukpo, Benue State.

He hailed from Upu village and a resident of Ukwenya Street, Igbanonmaje, Otukpo LGA.

He studied Mass Communication from the prestigious Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, Nasarawa State.

He is a young political activist and journalist who also doubles the present editor of IDOMA VOICE Newspapers.

He played a key role in the restoration of peace and sanctity among youths in Otukpo and the entire Idoma land as an interface agent between different security outlets, foundations and societies.

In his vision to inculcate sound digital education and financial independence among his people, Idah, has concluded necessary partnership arrangements with Global Ray Hub and a team of Google digital trainers to organize Digital Training clinics for all categories of learners in Ewulo and beyond for free.

Idah has held some key positions right from his days as a child in primary school to his days at the tertiary institution.

As a young lad in Unique Nur/Pri. School Otukpo in 1999 to 2005, he was class captain every term for 6 years back to back before graduating to Ewulo college in 2005. He was elected as JSS 1B class captain the same year (2005) but was switch back to JSS 1A weeks later after handing over to a fellow classmate.

In 2014, he was appointed as a Legislative Aide to former Nigeria’s Senate President, Dist. Sen. David AB Mark.

He has worked as a scribe/handler of two senators, several House of Representatives and State House of Assembly candidates.

In 2015, he was elected as the first Student Representative Council (SRC) Member, to represent the Department of Mass Communication at the Student Union Government (SUG), Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, Nasarawa state.

As a Senator representing his department; he carried out several laudable and notable projects and programs in the school aimed at promoting the welfare of students.

As a Student parliamentarian, he was a known voice for his stand on progressive ideas, he sponsored a number of bills and motions in the floor of the students’ Parliament.

The HOD of his department, Mrs Tonia Ohiekwu in 2016 gave him a commendation letter for his outstanding leadership style and quality.

In 2018, he secured a scholarship from Amb. Dickson Akoh, The National Commandant of the Peace Corp of Nigeria (PCN) worth seven hundred thousand for one of his subjects (Paul Oloche, an automobile inventor) whom he discovered and promoted for free.

In 2019, he (Idah) was contacted by the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers and asked to bring the young inventor, Paul Oloche to receive an award (Young inventors award, STEM category) in Yenogoa, Bayelsa state.

In 2019 again, he enlisted over a thousand persons from Benue south to become beneficiaries of a United Nations (UN) grant.

Therefore, I present to you a pragmatic, proactive, committed, dedicated and strategic visionarian to represent the good people of Ewulo ward in 2019.
