#IdomaVoiceSearchLight: Where is Dr. Christopher Obute?
By Ameh Godwin
The name Christopher Obute was like a street paean during the George Akume administration as Benue State Governor.
Obute was the Commissioner for Finance under the leadership of Akume which expired in 2007.
After their exit from the Government House in 2007, Obute became silent and literarily disappeared from public domain.
The last time anyone could hear from Obute was in 2006 at a press conference when he alleged that over N5billion was lavished on gifts in 2004 by the hen government.
Obute at the media gathering explained that there were many “public causes” that begged for attention and the government had no option than to channel part of the money to such causes. But his listeners were not fooled, especially as he did not explain what he meant by “public causes.”
A native of Iko Inori family in Ugbugbu Owukpa, Ogbadibo LGA, Obute, IDOMA VOICE observed has been maintaining a low and private life after his boss’s tenure expired on May 29 2007.
