The Adekolure family has been devastated by the tragic death of their daughter, Idowu Glory, whose body was found near her parents’ home. Glory, a recent graduate of the University of Benin, had left home on June 13, 2024, to complete her clearance at the university but never returned alive.
A social media user, @softbaba24, identified as her older brother, shared the heartbreaking news.
He claimed that Glory was beaten, raped, and murdered in the Iyowa community area of Benin, Edo State, and her body was left near their house.
In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, he pleaded for help from Nigerians and the police to uncover the truth behind his sister’s death. He wrote:
“Justice for my younger sister, Adekolure Idowu Glory, who was raped and killed in Iyowa community, Benin, Edo State, on her way back from school (UNIBEN). She went for her clearance, and her corpse was dropped close to our mother’s house.
“Help us seek justice for my sister who had just graduated from the University of Benin in April 2024. She was still processing her projects and clearance when she was raped to death on her way back from school on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at just 22 years old.
“Her lifeless body has been deposited at UBTH mortuary on June 15, 2024, with the help of the Nigeria Police from Ekiadolor Division. She was beaten, raped, and killed. Please, Nigerians, come to our rescue. My mum can’t hold herself.
“Please, everyone, help me by retweeting and tagging those who can help get justice.”
The family and community are seeking justice and answers to this senseless tragedy, hoping that the authorities will take swift action.
