IG declares Sunday Igboho wanted over attack on Fulanis in Oyo

For leading a protest calling for Fulani eviction from Oyo State forests, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has declared Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho, wanted.

Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Mohammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, who disclosed while speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa, said the IGP has ordered for Mr. Igboho’s immediate arrest.

He further disclosed that the IGP personally told him in a telephone conversation that he had delegated the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Ngozi Onadeko, to arrest Igboho immediately and transfer him to Abuja.

IDOMA VOICE reports that Sunday Igboho, had asked herdsmen in Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State to leave within seven days, blaming the leadership of the Fulani of being behind the rising insecurity in the state.

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, had accused Igboho who is the Akoni Oodua of Yoruba land of heating up the polity, and asked the IGP to ensure he was arrested immediately.
