Former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has sent a message of condolence to the governor of Benue State, Dr Samuel Ortom over the demise of the Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr Emmanuel Ikwulono.
Senator Mark in a statement on Thursday, lamented over the sudden demise of the medical practitioner who was just three months old in office. Dr Ikwulono was sworn-in in August 2020.
The late health commissioner was said to have undergone a surgical operation in a hospital in Jos, Plateau State and died of complications.
According to Mark, “the news of the demise of Dr Ikwulono came as a rude shock to me. He was a dedicated officer who died in his prime when his services were most needed.
“His death is unarguably a setback in the provision of healthcare services to the people of Benue State especially under this prevailing Covid-19 pandemic. He will be sorely missed.”
Senator Mark extended his condolences to the immediate family of the late commissioner, the government and people of Benue State and prayed that the good Lord grants the deceased eternal rest.
