Gabon captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has issued a strong warning to Nigeria ahead of their crunch 2026 FIFA World Cup play-off semi-final, vowing to give everything to secure Gabon’s first-ever World Cup appearance.

The Panthers will face the Super Eagles on November 13 in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.

Aubameyang, who inspired Gabon to finish second in Group F behind Ivory Coast, said his team is fully focused on making history. Nigeria, meanwhile, sealed their place in the playoffs with a commanding 4–0 victory over Benin Republic.

Speaking to The Standard, the former Arsenal and Chelsea striker said qualification for the global tournament is driving his determination.

“We want to go to the World Cup, and to get there, we have to win games,” Aubameyang said.

“I’m very motivated, and when you have the opportunity to play at a World Cup, you have to give everything.”

The winner of the CAF playoff will advance to the Intercontinental Playoffs in Mexico next March, where six teams will battle for two remaining slots at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
