‘I’ll send you to scatter them, they’re already confused’ – Tinubu tells Akpabio
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday humorously hinted at deploying Senate President Godswill Akpabio to the opposition camp to create disarray.
The remark was made during his address at the commissioning of the Nigeria Revenue Service headquarters in Abuja.
Naija news reports that Tinubu, while speaking at the event, Tinubu playfully told Akpabio he could be sent to the rival camp to stir confusion within their ranks.
Tinubu said, “Senate President, I will send you to the other side to represent me. And then you can scatter them to any way you want.
“They’re confused!”
He wrapped up his speech on a lighter note, adding, “God bless Nigeria, God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the tax collectors.”
Akpabio Blames Insecurity On Politics
Earlier in his address, Akpabio attributed the country’s security challenges to political rivalry.
Speaking at the same event, where he commended Tinubu’s leadership and reforms, the Senate President alleged that opposition elements were behind recent security disturbances in a bid to distract the administration.
He claimed that some political actors, driven by envy over Tinubu’s achievements and the approaching elections, were fueling unrest and attempting to undermine the government.
According to him, the recent wave of insecurity is politically motivated and aimed at creating panic while tarnishing the image of the current administration.
