I’ll work with Church to preserve Sankera as a cradle of Christianity

Governor Samuel Ortom has restated his administration’s determination to collaborate with the Church to ensure the preservation of the Sankera geopolitical axis as the craddle of Christianity in Tiv land.

The Governor stated this today while declaring open the 2020 NKST MIM National Conference at Amaafu, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area with the theme: “do all things orderly,” holding from 1st to 11th of January, 2020.

He noted that as a place where Christianity started in Tiv land, the area would not be allowed to become a den of criminals, pointing out that he would collaborate with the Church to change the ugly narrative in the area.

Governor Ortom also pledged the support of his administration to the development of the permanent site donated to the NKST for the annual event and the entire host community of Amaafu, stressing that government would support the provision of portable drinking water and construction of perimeter fence among other development programmes at the site.

The Governor who also appreciated the Amaafu community for donating a vast area of land for the work of God prayed that blessings never cease in the area.

While charging people of the area and Benue at large to embrace Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, the Governor said the Bible provides recipe for prosperity and/or otherwise, saying the choices are there for people to make for their own benefits.

National President of NKST worldwide, Rev. Dominic Anza, commended Governor Ortom for his usual support to the Church and for the donation of a permanent site for its yearly national conference, even as he prayed God to guide and protect the Governor as he works for the progress and development of the state and the Church in particular.

The Governor was conducted round the permanent site by the national president of the NKST.
