At least one person was killed and others injured in a clash between Ilobu and Erin-Osun communities in the Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State.
Report says the clash ensued following a disagreement on land related issues between the communities.
According to residents, some indigenes of Ilobu, residing in Erin-Osun, were attacked by residents of Erin-Osun, and this provoked a retaliatory reaction which has caused residents to flee their homes.
Men of the Nigerian military have been deployed to the area to avoid further crisis, but they are not at the exact scene of the incident.
Meanwhile, the Osun State government has declared a 24-hour curfew in Irepodun and Orolu Local Government Areas of the State.
In a statement issued on 7th February 2021 by Prince Wole Oyebamiji, Secretary to the State Government, the curfew was to douse tensions in the affected area.
