Ilorin: Water View Hotel owner, Adeniyi Ojo found dead in room

Adeniyi Ojo, the Managing Director of Water View Hotel located in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, has passed away.

On Thursday, around 10.00 hours, Mr. Ojo’s lifeless body was discovered on one of the beds in a hotel room, as per a police report.

In an official statement released on Friday by SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command in Ilorin, it was revealed that a suspected case of culpable homicide had been reported at ‘A’ Division Ilorin on September 28, 2023, at approximately 10:00 hours by Kehinde Olaseinde, the supervisor of Water View Hotel located in GRA, Ilorin.

The statement continued, “A team of detectives dispatched to the scene were later joined by the Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya. The deceased, identified as Adeniyi Ojo, the managing director of the hotel, was found lying motionless on a bed in one of the rooms within the hotel.”

SP Okasanmi Ajayi disclosed that a physical examination of the body did not reveal any signs of physical violence.

“The body was taken to a hospital where he was confirmed deceased and was subsequently deposited at the General Hospital mortuary, Surulere, for an autopsy,” the statement further conveyed.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has initiated a discreet investigation into the case. Further details of the investigation will be made public at the earliest opportunity, as indicated by the Police Command.
