Bukayo Saka has turned up to be an early contender for the golden boot in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after scoring a brace against Iran.

Saka was handed a starting shirt by manager Gareth Southgate and the show of faith was well justified by Saka as he scored a brace in his debut World Cup match before being subbed off for Marcus Rashford in the 70th minute.

Luke Shaw’s corner found Harry Maguire in the box, whose headed pass teed up Saka to volley the ball to the top right corner.

Saka got his second of the day in the 62nd minute, displaying some individual brilliance and reiterating while the manager trust him.

After receiving a pass from Raheem Sterling, the 21-year-old dazzled his way into the box, before finessing the ball into the net.

Saka’s goals means he has become the youngest player to score two goals or more in a World Cup debut since German legend Franz Beckenbauer in 1966.

“I can’t describe the feeling. I’m so happy and I’m so proud. I’m ready to give 100% and I gave that today,” Saka said to the media after his excellent performance.
