Suspected hoodlums, on Friday, December 4, attacked officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
This incident comes less than 24 hours to the Senatorial bye-election slated for December 5 in the State.
It was gathered that the officials were on their way to Plateau South Senatorial district, where security operatives had earlier placed a restriction order on, when they were ambushed by the hoodlums.
Some of the attacked officials were Mohammed Haruna; National Commisioner, Halilu Pai, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, and other senior officials.
Recall on October 22 that INEC had rescheduled the Senatorial bye-election due to the escalation of violence in many parts of the country from the #ENDSARS protest.
