INEC uploads 90.33% of Edo election results to IReV
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has successfully uploaded 90.33% of the results from the Edo State governorship election to its Results Viewing Portal (IReV) as of the time of this report.
This translates to 4,082 out of the 4,519 polling unit results being transmitted to the portal, leaving only 437 results yet to be uploaded.
Earlier, Edo’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anugbum Onuoha, assured the public during an interview on Arise Television that the electronic transmission of results would proceed smoothly, except in the case of network disruptions.
“We have trained the BVAS operators, and they are ready. BVAS will accredit the voters and determine the total number of people eligible to vote at each polling unit. Once voting concludes, results will be counted and uploaded to our IReV,” he explained.
This update comes as candidates from major parties—PDP’s Asue Ighodalo, APC’s Monday Okpebholo, and Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata—vie for the support of 2.2 million registered voters across 18 local government areas.
