Injury rules out Osimhen for three-week

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen is set to be action for the Partenopei, after picking up a hamstring injury.

Osimhen had started in Napoli’s 4-1 win over Liverpool in the first game of the group stages of the UEFA Champions League but he was taken off, with Giovanni Simeone having replaced him. The former Lille forward missed a penalty in the game as well.

The Partenopei have confirmed that Osimhen had undergone scans and tests earlier today and it revealed a second degree injury on the right hamstring. He has already started undergoing therapy session for recovery yesterday.

The recovery time has not been announced but Sky Italia claim that he is expected to miss about three weeks of action. He will be missing against Spezia in the league and will be out for the game against Rangers in the Champions League.

The Nigeria international will be missing for the game against Milan as well . His return, which will obviously be evaluated day after day based on the evolution of the situation, is likely to be after the international break.
