Innocent Unaji: Business mogul with a large heart

There is a popular saying that “Not all heroes wear crowns”. As we have come to know also, “Not all emperors preside over territories, some are rulers of ideas, vast wealth and chains of enterprises.”

One of such is Engr. Innocent Adole Unaji, a rising business magnate.

Born on 17 April, couple of decades ago, into the the family of a grassroots politician of Idoma extraction, Hon. Patrick Abah Unaji of Agbangwe-Edumoga, in Okpokwu Local Govt Area of Benue State, Innocent was the firstborn of the family of five.

His leadership skills were first noticed when he served as the Assistant Senior Prefect of the famous St. Francis College, Otukpo where he graduated in 1997.

Thereafter, he proceeded to the prestigious Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, after working as a teacher for two years and haven saved some money to sponsor his tertiary education. At FUT, Minna, he bagged a first class in Mechanical Engineering.

After his National Youth service, NYSC, Centino as his fondly called, returned to the street, where he took up menial jobs to keep himself busy due to the unavailability of ‘white collar’ job.

Frustrated from pressures from his boss at the barber shop where he was working, Innocent decided to cool off at a big hotel close to his work place. There he met some people and fortune smiled on him when he introduced himself as a Mechanical Engineer.

He was tested with a project and he neatly delivered a perfect job before the contract duration.

Between 2007 and 2009 his world turned around and his life changed forever.

Today, he is the MD/CEO of Mcray Victus Nigeria Limited and other allied companies under his watch.

> Mcray Supermarkets & Stores Ltd: A 24/7 supermarket in and around the Federal Capital Territory. On his birthday this year, 2021, there was a ground breaking ceremony of another massive branch of the supermarket in Jikwoyi.

A well-travelled, versatile, experienced engineer and industrialist with over 20-year experience in the field of engineering, Innocent is a consultant with many multinationals, and has engineered several projects commissioned by presidents across the African continent.

He is a member; Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and member, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

He is married to Mrs. Veronica Onyowo Unaji and wonderful children who are also part of the team behind the gradual growth of his businesses and conglomerate.
