Insecurity: Governors meet in Aso Rock
Members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), converged at the State House Conference Centre, Aso Rock Abuja, on Wednesday.
The emergency meeting scheduled for 8pm, according to NGF’s spokesman, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, is to enable the Governors to deliberate on the security challenges confronting the country.
This comes after some members of the NGF, including Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara and Abubakar Sanni of Niger, visited Shasha Market in Ibadan to assess the destruction at the scene of the clash between Yoruba and Hausa communities.
The meeting will be the first physical meeting by members, since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
NGF’s Chairman and Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi is expected to brief newsmen on the outcome of the meeting later tonight.
