Insecurity: Remain calm, peace will be restored – Ejembi Adaje to Benue Youths

A 2027 House of Representatives hopeful for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Hon. Inalegwu Ejembi Adaje, has called on youths in Benue State to remain calm and law-abiding in the face of rising insecurity and recent killings across parts of the state.

Ejembi made the appeal in reaction to the protests that erupted on Sunday in Makurdi and other towns over the renewed wave of violence that has left several communities in mourning.

While commending the protesters for conducting themselves peacefully, the House of Reps aspirant assured that the government and security agencies are working round the clock to restore peace in affected areas. He emphasized that both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches were being adopted to address the root causes of the conflict and ensure lasting peace.

“I want to commend our young people for expressing their grievances peacefully. This is a difficult time for all of us, but I urge you to remain calm. Government is not sleeping. Measures are being put in place to deal with the situation comprehensively,” he said.

Ejembi further reiterated his support for Governor Hyacinth Alia’s ongoing efforts to intensify collaboration with security agencies across the state. He expressed confidence that with sustained action and cooperation, peace and order would soon return to all parts of Benue.

The House of Reps aspirant also condemned the killings in Guma, Apa, and Agatu local government areas, offering prayers for the repose of the souls lost and comfort for the grieving families.

“As a people, we must keep praying. The church continues to intercede for peace, and I believe that with our collective support, Benue will rise above this trying period,” Ejembi added.
