Institutions in Ado LGC to receive state government’s intervention as Oche salutes Ortom, Ityavyar, Ekpe Ogbu, others

In the wake of the distress calls from James Oche, the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area on the need for Benue State Government to sustain its assistance in addressing some developmental challenges in his domain, the Benue State Commissioner for Education Prof, Dennis Ityavar and the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development Chief Ekpe Ogbu yesterday visited Ado to evaluate educational institutions and other facilities with the view of improving same.

On the visit also were; Special Adviser to the Governor on Education Hon Iyama Odeh, the Executive Secretary Teaching Service Board Hon Dr Frank Kyungun, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Mrs Helen Angwe, Adviser on SUBEB Hon, Tarnongu Saawuan, the Representative from Architectural Designing Mr Agulu, Ministry of Education Press Team led by Comr, Alabar Tersoo and the Ministry of Housing Press Team led by Comr, George Odoo who were well received by the Chairman in Igumale.

Speaking on the purpose of the high powered delegation visit, the Education Commissioner, Prof Ityavyar revealed that the state government was planning on rehabilitating some dilapidated Educational infrastructures across the state and considered Ado Local Government as one of its key beneficiaries, hence the visit so as to appraise the state of schools within the Area.

The team accompanied by the Executive Chairman of Ado and members of his council visited Government Secondary School (GSS) Ulayi, Methodist School, Igumale and the Government College, Utonkon Where the Commissioner assessed the state of infrastructure at the schools and assured that, in no distant time, there would be a total transformation of same. He said the Government College Utonkon would be transformed into a Technical College.

Earlier, the Chairman in his welcome address appreciated the State Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom and the State Commissioners for Education and Housing, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar and Chief Ekpe Ogbu respectively as well as other stakeholders for considering Ado to benefit from the educational intervention. He further pleaded with the State Government to assist the Local Government with other infrastructural concerns. To which, the commissioner assured of governments intervention to rescue the decaying state of infrastructure.

To pay homage to royalty, the Team on arriving Utonkon first paid a courtesy visit to the Olongwe Nwe Ufia, HRH Chief Matthew Ogbu Egede who appreciated the team and their efforts to supporting their worthy son, James Oche the Chairman to impact the people with meaningful development.
