An Abuja based Lawyer, Napoleon Otache has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari, Inspector General of Police and other Stakeholders over alleged threat to the life of his client, Mr Samuel Adama by a secret cult mob in Ugbokpo, Apa LGA.
The legal practioner alleged that the cult group attacked Mr Samuel Adama’s family compound at Ugbokpo, Apa LGA on the seventh of this month, and destroyed properties worth over one hundred million Naira.
According to the petition, the secret cult mob has threatened to kidnap and kill his client and family members thereby placing his life in serious danger.
It described as malicious and unfounded, the involvement of Mr Samuel Adama in the death of a young man in Ugbokpo, saying his client can not be linked to the death of the young Man allegedly killed in a Cult ritual.
The legal practitioner stated that all the allegations against Mr Samuel were a sponsored vendetta and smear campaign by certain interests.
The petition called on the Inspector General of Police to order an investigation into the death of the boy and destruction of his client’s family compound in Ugbokpo. The sponsors and benefactors of cultism in the community should be interrogated and brought to face justice.
