Ipeilo: Benue rapid response team rises up to Ogbadibo mysterious deaths

The wave of news on the rise in death toll at Ogbadibo LG over the out break of a strange ailment cannot be over- emphasized.

Despite the collusion of the outbreak with the demise of Dr Emmanuel Ikwulono ( Hon Commissioner of Health; the Incidence Manager and State Epidemiologist Dr Samuel Ngishe deployed the State Team which had been on ground in the last 72hrs and was saddled with the responsibilities of;

1. Case review
2. Line listing and contact tracing where necessary
3. Sample Collection
4. Logistics coordination for referral cases
5. Case investigation in border communities to mention a few.

Prof Steve Abah a renowned Public Health professor and consultant to the NCDC also met with the team to interact on technical approach to the response as a medium of strengthening response.

With the movement of harvested samples for testing, we are sure that an official address on the nomenclature of the ailment, root causes and prevention will be out soonest.
