The Coalition for Good Governance and Change Initiative has ask the Federal Government to immediately re-arrest the supreme Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu before he plug the Country into another civil war.
In a statement Thursday in Abuja signed by its National Coordinator, Okpokwu Ogenyi, the group warned that, Kanu’s previous threat statements and the current tension round Nigeria is worrisome. He said, the Nigeria government should not waste further time in re-arresting Kanu and make he face the full wrath of the law.
In his words ” lives and properties are being lost on daily bases and if not properly handled, it may lead to another civil war.”
The government has the capacity to end the on going tension and restore normalcy to its citizens, as there is drum of war across the Nation.
Ogenyi said no individual or group is stronger than the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that Kanu has abused the leniency of the Federal government and allowing him further freedom will increase the tension as he has committed another fresh crime by the attack on Innocent Nigerians, Military, and the razing of a Police formation in Aba, Abia State.
The group insists that, Kanu and his Biafra Army Commanders should be taken in custody latest Saturday before the Biafra Soldiers declare war on Nigeria. We should not take any of their threat for granted as they (IPOB) are capable of pushing the Country into another civil war.
We can not afford another civil war. Those who witnessed the last civil war should caution their children before it is too late. Parents allowing their children to be used as Biafra Soldiers should withdraw their wards.
The Nigeria Military, the Police and the Department of State Security should get Nnamdi Kanu from wherever he is hiding in a show of intelligence before he plug the Nation into a full blown war.
He also accused Igbo leaders of aiding the IPOB activities through their silence from the beginning and their tactical support for Nnamdi Kanu. All Igbo leaders, both community and political, to immediately call their children to order as no group shall be allow to hold Nigeria to ransom.
