IPOB declares Mondays as ‘Economic Empowerment Day’ in South-East, replacing sit-at-home

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared that every Monday will now be observed as an “Economic Empowerment Day” across the entire South-East region. This decision comes in response to the negative impact caused by prolonged sit-at-home protests on the region’s economy, education, and social sectors.

In a statement released by Emma Powerful, the group’s spokesman, it was mentioned that this decision follows the cancellation of all sit-at-home protests in the South-East, as conveyed in Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s handwritten letter, which was made public by his counsel, Alloy Ejimakor.

The statement explained that the “Economic Empowerment Day” is intended for Biafrans to unite and mobilize resources to address the economic and social challenges faced by the region. Through initiatives focused on education, employment, healthcare, and community development, the people of the South-East aim to reclaim their lost glory and thrive once again.

The IPOB emphasized that Kanu’s handwritten letter was not written under any duress or influence, and anyone doubting its authenticity is being dishonest. The group called for unity among Biafrans to rebuild the Eastern region and work towards the restoration of Biafra.
