United States Congressman Riley M. Moore has reiterated claims that Islamic extremists wreaking havoc in Nigeria have killed more than 7,000 Christians in 2025 alone.

DAILY POST earlier reported that Moore and Senator Ted Cruz have consistently alleged that Christians in Nigeria are facing an ongoing genocide.

While the Nigerian government has strongly rejected the allegations, the two U.S. lawmakers maintain that widespread persecution of Christians persists across the country.

Their position has contributed to pressures urging the U.S. government to designate Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) over religious freedom violations.

In a post shared on his X handle on Tuesday night, Moore expressed appreciation to American rapper Nicki Minaj for publicly highlighting the plight of Christians in Nigeria at the United Nations. He insisted that urgent international intervention is needed.

“I want to personally thank @NICKIMINAJ for using her platform to elevate the issue of Christian persecution in Nigeria,” he wrote.

“7,000 Christians have been murdered this year alone. We must do everything in our power to defend our brothers and sisters in Christ.”
