Popular Nigerian Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso, will be laid to rest on Tuesday.

Our correspondent gathered that Solatul Janazah (Prayer for the Dead) was held for the singer in Ojota, Lagos State, on Tuesday morning.
During the prayer session, which was streamed live on TikTok, it was announced that the final prayer and burial would take place at noon in Ijebu Aiyepe, Ogun State.
YAYI TV, a popular Islamic YouTube and social media channel, also confirmed the news in a Facebook post, stating, “Alh. Rukayat Gawat is no more. May Allah be pleased with her – Amin. Her funeral (Janazah prayer) will take place in Ijebu Aiyepe, Ogun State, today by noon. May Allah be pleased with her soul.”
Jubril Gawat, the brother of the deceased and Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, shared a verse from the Quran on his X account, quoting, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” (Q2:156)
