Israeli-Hamas war: Jordan declares support for Palestine

King Abdullah II of Jordan has expressed steadfast support for Palestine, emphasizing that achieving peace in the Middle East is contingent upon the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.

Amid the ongoing armed conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, King Abdullah asserted the critical importance of a two-state solution. He stated that true peace and stability in the region cannot be attained without the presence of a sovereign Palestinian state within the borders of 1967.

Addressing deputies at the commencement of a new parliamentary session on Wednesday, the Jordanian monarch emphasized, “Our region will never be secure nor stable without achieving just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution.”
