The Obadabada Football Club of Itabono Ward I in Owukpa, on Saturday, defeated the Akanaba FC of Ehaje Ward I to lift this year’s Owukpa Unity Cup, otherwise known as Ameh Jerry Memorial Cup’s trophy.
The Firstborns had defeated Itabono I 8-2 to qualify for the final stage.
Ehaje I had on the other side defeated Ehaje II 5-3 on penalty to qualify for the final stage.
Agbo Emmanuel, also known as Obochi won the golden boot.
The competition is sponsored by Ameh Comrade Godwin (Ojotuyela Owukpa), publisher Idoma Voice and SA Media to Senator Abba Moro in honour of his late brother, Prince Ameh Jerry, who was the pioneer editor of Idoma Voice.
The first edition in 2017 was won by Flying Hawks of Ugbugbu while Ehaje Ward I won the second edition in 2018.
