Iwobi returns to United States with Everton

English Premier League club, Everton have departed for the United States of America, to continue pre-season preparations, with Super Eagles playmaker, Alex Iwobi part of the traveling party.

Iwobi is returning to the United States, around one month after featuring for the national team in a friendly against Ecuador.

The Nigeria international was granted an extended vacation due to his international commitments this summer.

The Toffees squad and coaching staff, including Frank Lampard, set off for the United States on Monday morning.

Everton will play two games while in the USA, starting with Iwobi’s former club Arsenal at the 70,000-capacity M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday July 16, then Minnesota United at Allianz Field on Wednesday, July 20.

Promising youngsters Lewis Dobbin, Zan-Luk Leban, Isaac Price, Ellis Simms, Lewis Warrington and Reece Welch were included in the traveling squad to Stateside but there was no place on the plane for talented Anglo-Nigerian winger Francis Okoronkwo.

Ahead of their mouth-watering Premier League opener against Chelsea, Everton have lined up friendlies against Blackpool and Dynamo Kiev upon their return to the United Kingdom.
