Barely one month into the office as caretaker chairman of Ado LG, Comrade James Oche and the council received delivery of two trailer load of agro chemicals and sprayers to support the farmers within Ado LG.
This delivery was made by the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA), whose officials said it was a deliberate intervention to boost food production.
In a rigorous exercise that was supervised by the council boss to ensure equity in the distribution, Comrade James Oche lauded the support of NEMA to rural farmers and reinstated his commitment torwards boosting Agriculture in the local government in line with the commitment of H E Gov Samuel Ortom and appreciates the NEMA for this timely intervention.
Furthermore, he encouraged farmers to judiciously make use of the provision and take advantage of the improved rice seedlings to boost their production.
He how ever warned that the seedlings are not meant for consumption as it has grave health consequences and directed that the agriculture department in collaboration with the information unit embark on orientation to aid the rural farmers on the usage of these products.
