Rt Hon James Ogaba Oche has officially assumed office as the Benue State Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission (PCC).
IDOMA VOICE reports that President Bola Tinubu appointed Oche a few months ago; he is the immediate past executive chairman of Ado LGA.
Speaking shortly after assuming office in Makurdi on Tuesday, Oche promised to champion impartial investigations on behalf of complainants who feel aggrieved by the actions or inactions of government and private institutions and individuals.
His words, Today, I officially assumed office as the Benue State Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) and I wish to state that, the essence of the commission will be driven with passion across the state.
“Staff welfare which tops the priority list of the Honourable Chief Commissioner of the Commission, the Rt. Hon. Bashir Abubakar will receive adequate attention under our joint leadership.
“I charge the staff of the commission to work assiduously to achieve the set goals of the commission and I am sure that the Benue State Office of the Public Complaints Commission will be reckoned among the best in achievements and profile under my watch.
“I thank God for the grace upon my life and I appreciate the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Assembly and the government and people of Benue State for the privilege to serve. I most particularly appreciate the Minority Leader of the Senate, Sen. Comr. Abba Moro (Ph.D) for his undeterred commitment to ensuring my appointment.
“I must reiterate the aims and objectives of the Commission, which among others is to promote social justice for individual citizens and to provide a viable option for Nigerians or anyone resident in Nigeria seeking redress against injustice arising from or connected with administrative bureaucratic errors, omissions or abuse by officials of government, or limited liability companies in Nigeria.
“The commission in Benue State under my watch will champion impartial investigations on behalf of complainants who feel aggrieved by the action or inaction of government and private institutions and individuals.
“I wish to reaffirm the readiness of the Honourable Chief Commissioner of the Commission, the Rt. Hon. Bashir Abubakar who, given his track record of impeccable achievements is ready to take the commission to the promised land.
“I appreciate the warm reception of the staff of the commission led by the Director of Investigation Mrs. Justin-Chuwang Nankyer Irene, the Deputy Director Investigation, Mr. Kpaakpa Terkura and the Principal Information Officer, Icheme John Ode who also conducted me round the office facility.
“Among numerous others who witnessed my assumption of duty were; Hon. Agbese Onazi Charles, Mr. Olito Agbese, Hon Ochai Emmanuel, Hon. Oche Onazi Sunday, Miss Blessing Jacob, Mr. Abayomi Balarin, Hon. Mark Johnson Odey and Jeffery Joseph.”
